A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling error. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam protection software. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a web hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a few features, but it’s amazingly easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only a click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes with any domain name hosted there. To activate the catch-all functionality for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click the button with the same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be done in the exact same way and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all option has already been activated for a specific domain name, you will receive a warning. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never edit or deactivate any feature automatically.
